Introduction to Project Management for UD Employees

The eleven-week introductory Project Management course consists of 16.5 contact hours of powerful and versatile concepts, expertly designed, by a certified PMP instructor for University of Delaware employees. Participants acquire the following key competencies during this eleven-week program: • Understand the role and functions of a Project Manager • Identify key phases within a project lifecycle • Identify the constraints of a project • Understand effective project management approaches to initiate, execute and close a project • Identify project risks • Identify and engage stakeholders for a project • Create a milestone schedule • Understand the components of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) • Understand UD’s internal technology request project management processes To successfully complete the Introduction to Project Management for UD Employees course, each participant must: • Participate in weekly class Zoom sessions • Complete individual and team exercises assigned by the instructor • Participate in the final capstone project presentation held week 11
