The 10-week Project Management Certificate program consists of 35 hours of live instruction from a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified instructor.
Participants acquire the following key competencies during this 10-week program:
• Defining a project and exploring best practices in predictive (Waterfall), adaptive (Agile) and Hybrid project methods, applying the tools required for successful project delivery.
• Applying project management tools and experiencing both the art and science of managing a successful project through the project life cycle.
• Working with a project team by developing a comprehensive project plan that consists of a project charter, project scope, work breakdown structure, task dependencies, calculating earned value, managing changes and a final project capstone presentation.
To earn the Project Management Certificate, each participant must:
• Attend 10 weekly 3 1/2 hour classes.
• Join a project team, participate in a group project for the entire duration of the class and give a capstone presentation during the last session.
• Complete an Agile project management simulation.
• Complete each program module with a passing grade and earn a “C” or above as the course grade.
