The Foundations of Technical and Professional Writing course consists of 36 contact hours of asynchronous instruction by University of Delaware English Department faculty.
Participants acquire the following key competencies during this 36-contact hour course:
Display sociocultural competence in technical and professional writing
Create accessible documents/documentation projects
Employ usability and user experience concepts
Conduct small-scale, applied, workplace-based research in writing and communication
Navigate developments in generative AI in the context of technical and professional writing
To successfully complete the Foundations of Technical and Professional Writing course, each participant must:
Demonstrate proficiency and understanding of content by successfully completing all assignments.
Complete all assessments, including quizzes, concise problem-based writing prompts, and reflective writing prompts with a total grade of at least a 70%.
